Value Alpha

Owners

Most owners learn what their business is worth from the person trying to buy it.

That is a bad moment to be finding out. Value Alpha gives you the number first, the evidence to hold it through diligence, and a route to buyers when you decide it is time.

01 · The situation

You have spent a decade or three building something. At some point, a sale, a raise, a succession, an unsolicited approach, somebody is going to put a price on it, and it will probably be somebody whose interest is in that price being low.

They will arrive with analysts, comparable transactions, and a model. Historically your options have been a free calculator that applies one multiple to one number, or a $15,000 engagement that takes six weeks. Neither is much use in the week the call actually comes.

A defensible range in hand changes the conversation entirely. You know whether an offer is serious before you respond to it, and when a buyer argues the multiple down you can point at the comparable transactions and the normalised earnings behind your number rather than defending a feeling.

03 · In the product

The number, and what stands behind it.
